the chair is from a whakataukī “Tama tū Tama ora, Tama noho Tama mate” which is used in alot of kōrero about resistance.
In the chair ive changed it to read “Tama noho, kia tau” which is like “oi boy, sit and rest” sorta to say there is still resistance in rest/reflection - an idea my mate piupiu talks about in her work.
